Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Research best practices and develop software tools and applications to support Asset Management initiatives and business needs with concerns for security, usability, and mobility.
  • Consult with users on common business problems, challenges, and inefficiencies, and implement solutions that will provide benefit to both the business and the user as well as promoting process standardization.
  • Develop and design multi-system database architecture to achieve flexibility, expandability, and usability across systems of planning, accounting, work documentation, assets, safety, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement administrative processes to ensure a high level of application availability for non-IT supported applications. Provide off-hours support for production problem resolution, scheduled database migrations, upgrades, and patching. Work with Corporate IT and vendors to resolve performance issues and implement system patches.
  • Consult on database design, user interface design, and business process design to achieve an intuitive and effective solution. Provide training and support for Asset Management applications, track progress, schedules, feedback, and incorporate modifications into future releases.
  • Conduct database maintenance such as performance monitoring and tuning, back-up, and recovery. Integrate databases and data sets to enhance data value and accuracy.
  • Maintain customer support and provide IT guidance to enterprise asset management systems such as Maximo, Datasplice, Engage, and PI.
  • Troubleshoot application failures including performance and database connectivity problems, business logic, and job failures.
  • Develop and implement automated reports, performance indicators, metrics, queries, and databases to track and improve business process accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Evaluate technological advancements and investigate the feasibility of applying new techniques, methods, hardware/software, and wireless solutions. This includes field testing of equipment and software.
  • Act as a Project Manager to implement Asset Management solutions. This includes such tasks as evaluating proposals, initiating procurement, developing implementation schedules, coordinating, and providing oversight of installation, developing instructions and procedures, and conducting training.
  • Advocate processes and methods that improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Maintain short-term milestones to achieve long-term strategic goals. Work to change culture as part of process improvement.
  • Evaluate and recommend software patches and upgrades and develop change management plans as needed for implementation of software changes.
  • Perform other related assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED And 8 years experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations (Substations, Gas, Steam, Electric, etc) Or
  • Associate's Degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Math and Sciences, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc) And 7 years experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations (Substations, Gas, Steam, Electric, etc) Or
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Math and Sciences, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc) And 5 years experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations (Substations, Gas, Steam, Electric, etc) Or
  • Master's Degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Math and Sciences, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc) And 4 years experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations (Substations, Gas, Steam, Electric, etc)

Relevant Work Experience

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Required computer proficiency to include MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
  • Must have knowledge of asset management and work control.
  • Must have experience with the maintenance and/or operation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of condition-based maintenance, predictive maintenance technologies, and component health reporting.
  • Must demonstrate a high energy level and promote a positive work ethic in supporting the Corporate values.
  • Must possess decision-making skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with other employees in a cross-departmental platform. Required
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience using MS Access, Maximo, Datasplice, Engage, PI, and web page development and design,
  • Experience using SQL query commands and .NET programming code to create customized software applications, automated reports, and performance indicators. Pref

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the Company service territory as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to wear PPE as required.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to system emergencies 24/7 as required by system conditions.
  • Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
