Core Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible to manage the day to day operations of a group of management and union employees, primarily technicians, specialist and engineering supervisors
  • Attend meetings with other departments, contractors, consultants and representatives from inside and outside the Company.
  • Using company vehicle, the incumbent will drive to various locations to supervise the installation of technical equipment
  • Provides close field support to the customer service areas during emergencies and scheduled installations.
  • Prepares, updates and revises engineering specifications and operating procedures.
  • Responsible for various engineering studies, calculations, evaluations, root cause analysis reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance to Electric Operations personnel, critical and or high visibility customers by recommending measures to mitigate and eliminate power quality issues
  • Must be available and willing to work off-hour shifts during system emergencies.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • And 6 to 8 years related experience and knowledge of the distribution system including
  • Substations, Network, Non-network, 4kV grids with related field experience.
  • Or
  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • And 5 to 6 years related experience and knowledge of the distribution system including
  • Substations, Network, Non-network, 4kV grids with related field experience.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the analysis of fault detection, Reactance-to-Fault (RTF), transient & steady state waveforms and/or data. Required
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the electric distribution system (underground network secondary and/or overhead) and/or Central Operations; specifically in the areas of installation, maintenance, repair, removal, replacement, testing and inspection of power quality monitors and data loggers installed in distribution power systems. Required
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role Required
  • Must have working knowledge of computer skills in mainframe such as ECS, SQL Databases and PC applications including Microsoft office and the Company's financial systems: Oracle Procurement System and BI. Required
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Required
  • Must have the ability to understand and interpret emergency tickets (b-tickets) and work requests, mapping systems such as M&S plates, feeder maps, high tension diagrams, wiring diagrams and construction layouts. Required
  • Working experience with Power BI and Tableau applications Preferred
  • ICS Experience supporting CERC and/or DESR events Pref

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed
  • Must be available and willing to work off-hour shifts during system emergencies
