Core Responsibilities
- The primary responsibilities of the Specialist in EH&S Compliance - Violations & Training will be to manage the EH&S related violations process and the EH&S training compendium review process.
- Work on the development of a workflow process to track EH&S related violations, particularly those violations issued by New York City regulatory departments and subject to the jurisdiction of the New York City Environmental Control Board. This function includes assessing and managing the workflow process to track violations from receipt to resolution, coordinating investigations of alleged violations with the Law Department and operating organizations, and ensuring corrective actions are tracked and implemented.
- Working on the EH&S training compendium review. This function includes coordinating reviews of regulatory changes, company procedural and process changes, and EH&S training with company Subject Matter Experts and The Learning Center.
- Develop and manage a workflow process to track EH&S-related violations from receipt through resolution, particularly those violations issued by New York City regulatory departments and subject to the jurisdiction of the New York City Environmental Control Board.
- Investigate alleged EH&S related violations through communications and information review with the Law Department and operating organizations.
- Track corrective actions to ensure timely implementation.
- Prepare EH&S related violations trend analyses.
- Coordinate the EH&S training compendium review, including working collaboratively with the company's Subject Matter Experts and The Learning Center.
- Participate as a member of the EH&S Compliance Liaison team on compliance issues to help move the company closer to a Zero Harm culture.
- Represent the organization on various corporate teams and committees
- Assist the organization in meeting established Goals and Key Performance Indicators.
- Participate in off-site EH&S activities and outreach events.
- Function individually and in teams to develop or modify processes to promote environmental, health, and safety compliance while maintaining a cost conscience mindset.
- Assist in the development of long and short-term programs geared towards the achievement of customer Excellence and Regulatory Compliance.
- Represent the organization on various corporate teams and committees
- Responsible for the supervision of the clerical staff's: overall administration of the entire EH&S organization including the ordering and inventory of supplies, vehicle coordination, computer inventory, fire inspection coordination and the commitment tracking process for all EH&S identified commitments (audit, regulatory, etc.), create and monitor all contractor oversight documents and supply chain activities including creating requisitions and General Office Invoices, to register the entire EH&S organization for training, duties include entering and maintaining procedural records for the organization, coordinating of company events (i.e. Annual Safety Conference, EH&S Excellence Awards, EH&S Offsite), coordinating meetings and events such as Celebrate Success, Expanded Staff meetings, etc.), for data entry related to the EH&S Sustainability Report and assist in managing requests for Systems related items such as software, hardware, and applications requests.
- Responsible for Work and Life Initiative requests to process, clarify and distribute appropriate information to the Work and Life Committee experts.
- Manage the annual reviews and time management for clerical staff.
- Serve as a liaison between EH&S Programs Administration to create a conduit for open communication between all of the other EH&S departments.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and Two years' relevant work experience or
- Associate's Degree and Four years' relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Organizational Management, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, English, Math, Science, Engineering, Social Sciences, or related discipline preferred

Other Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
- Must be able and willing to respond during off-hours, work overtime (including weekends and holidays), as needed.
