Core Responsibilities
- Support the Rate Strategy and Analysis section in Rate Engineering in developing electric, gas and steam rate design strategies and associated analyses, which includes the development of: rate design and implementation strategies to address emerging challenges, such as mass market rate reform, electrification of heating and transportation, and increased penetration of distributed energy resources; and analyses necessary to understand impacts of various rate designs on customers bills and on technology adoption.
- Identify and use analytical tools to analyze large volumes of customer interval usage data and model the impacts of various rate design options on different types of customers.
- Research and summarize other utilities rate design approaches relating to emerging technologies. Research and summarize high-impact stakeholder positions in regulatory proceedings related to rate design.
- Acquire understanding of operating characteristics of emerging technologies and how their operating economics are impacted by various rate design scenarios.
- Interpret regulatory commission orders and other regulatory commission or governmental directives, and determine their impact on rate strategies and goals. Assist in preparing company positions in response to orders and directives. Provide guidance to other departments regarding Company responses to proposed rate-related legislation or other rule makings.
- Interact, communicate and exchange information with personnel from the other departments and other utilities.
- Prepare testimony, exhibits, and work papers for use in regulatory proceedings.
- Interpret, and answer inquiries, both internal and external, concerning the companies rate design efforts.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and accurate records, practice good housekeeping, follow Company safety procedures, and safeguard computers, digital files, reports, and work papers.
- Present at meetings both internal (to all levels of employees) and external to the Company.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Related Disciplines. and 4 years of relevant experience including experience performing technical studies or analyses.

- Must have strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills with a minimum of four years performing technical studies or analyses. Required

- Experience/Proficiency in statistical analysis. Preferred
- Experience with data warehouse systems and interval usage data. Preferred
- Knowledge of and experience using computer programming language(s) such as Python, R, and Java. Preferred
