Core Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in discipline of responsibility, respond and resolve field issues, support operating groups as system conditions require, including Business Continuity drills, System Emergency Assignments, and participate in CERC during corporate emergencies guiding the analysis of system events.
- Incorporate safety considerations into designs.
- Direct and supervise engineers and/or designers on projects for substations, distribution, transmission and Company facilities.
- Develop and implement plans for execution of engineering packages and studies in a cost effective, timely, and quality manner, in accordance with procedures and specifications.
- Foster teamwork and open communication with other engineering team members, user organizations and construction to establish project priorities and schedules.
- Prepare, monitor and manage budgets, workload and resource plans to meet organization objectives and customer expectations.
- Provide updated status on deliverables, manage schedules and resources accordingly to meet needs of concurrent projects and customers.
- Develop and manage activities of outside consultants and ensure procedures and controls are implemented and followed.
- Responsible for leadership and technical development of human resources.
- Provide supervision and guidance to the section personnel in carrying out assigned functions. Coordinate functions with other sections in the organization.
- Responsible for managing the section Clearing and O&M budgets, meeting the Key Performance Indicators and goals, and allocating organizational resources.
- Participate and represent the company on engineering and technical industry committees.
- Foster an atmosphere of teamwork, integrity, honesty, professionalism, excellence and open communication.

Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years related work experience in fields related to Substation equipment, dielectric systems, mechanical systems, controls and/or fire protection. or
- Master's Degree with a Bachelors degree in Engineering and 6 years related work experience in fields related to Substation equipment, dielectric systems, mechanical systems, controls and/or fire protection.
Relevant Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering. Required
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels and motivate employees. Required
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational and analytical skills. Required
- Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Required
- Requires previous supervisory experience and/or project or team lead experience. Required
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in engineering codes, specification development, project management/ development and workflow management. Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Driver's License Required
- Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
Other Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout Company service territory, as needed.
- Must be willing and able to respond to emergencies 24/7 as required by system conditions.
- Must be willing and able to walk extensively, work at elevations, in confined spaces, in extreme heat, cold and noisy environments.
- Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing and able to wear PPE as required.
