Core Responsibilities

  • Train, influence, and marshal risk leaders and responsible risk officers across all of Con Edison's affiliate businesses.
  • Participate as a member of industry-related organizations and in benchmarking activities to stay abreast of developments in ERM best practices and employ learnings to evolve the Company's ERM framework.
  • Facilitate annual and quarterly meetings with risk leaders and senior management to assess and monitor existing corporate and department risks.
  • Run risk workshops and guide risk leaders through annual risk and controls assessment activities.
  • Facilitate and encourage discussion to identify and assess emerging risks.
  • Participate in the preparation and documentation of department risk portfolios, including risk profiles, risk assessments, and other information for each department risk.
  • Compile and track on Key Risk Indicator data and generate associated reports and action plans.
  • Help prepare materials for ERM meetings with risk leaders from all subsidiaries of CEI (including, but not limited to, CECONY, O&R, CEBs, and CET).
  • Provide support in the preparation of ERM presentations made by the Director of SOX/ERM and Section Manager of ERM to the CEI Board and its Audit Committee, the ERM Steering and Corporate Risk Committees, the New York State Department of Public Service staff as well as other ad hoc presentations.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of GRC technology solutions.
  • Support the Director SOX/ERM and Section Manager of ERM.
  • Track emerging risks, threats and opportunities and develop associated reports and action plans to address.
  • Perform risk-related analyses to develop risk correlation models and identify systemic risks of concern.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments, as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree A Bachelor's degree in accounting, engineering, the sciences, economics, finance or business is preferred.
  • Master's Degree A Master's degree in accounting, engineering, the sciences, economics, finance or business is preferred.

Required Work Experience

  • With a bachelor's degree, five years (or, with a master's degree, three years) of experience that includes or demonstrates:
  • experience within the utility, energy, financial services, risk management, or consulting sectors;
  • proficiency with risk management practices;
  • experience working with teams of people across various functions and disciplines;
  • proficiency with data management, end user computing tools (spreadsheets and databases) and other standard computing applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel and Word);
  • flexibility to adapt to a new and changing environment;
  • and time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks. Required

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
