Core Responsibilities

  • Join Con Edison to build your clean energy career on our growing electrical vehicle team and be a part of one of the largest electric vehicle incentive programs in the country! The Sales Advisor/Senior Sales Advisor responsibility is to drive application submissions in the Electric Vehicle Programs through developing, qualifying and converting leads for electric vehicle charger projects. This is an external/customer facing position which entails outreach and education about the benefits of installing EV chargers and how to successfully navigate our incentive program process. The ideal representative is a motivated self-starter comfortable with generating project leads and developing industry connections, speaking with customers, attending networking events/conferences, and acting as a liaison between the customer and the program team. This representative will conduct sales presentations to customers/groups, be available to represent Con Edison at trade show booths and keep records on sales activities to reach targets. An essential part of the job is account management including creating and maintaining new relationships with customers, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders. As a member of the sales team, the representative may be asked to collaborate with other program teams like operations, engineering, market research/analytics, and marketing on sales programs.
  • Drive application submissions with enthusiasm for the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure incentive program.
  • Self-monitor, analyze and evaluate performance against goals for sales.
  • Support a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers, developers, technology providers, and the sales team.
  • Build, maintain and create new relationships with customers, charging station developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the EV program team, as well as engineering, market research and analytics, and marketing on sales programs.
  • Support and implement an effective outreach and education strategy, manage sales presentations, customer commitment documentation, and conversion of applications to installed projects.
  • Help to develop recommendations to enhance program outreach and education.
  • Support Company cooperation with New York Public Service Commission Outreach Marketing and Education Staff, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, and other committees/interest groups pertaining to the sales of programs.
  • Represent the Company at industry conferences and meetings with external stakeholders related to the development of EV charger projects.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree for the 2L 3 years work experience (Senior Sales Advisor) 2 years business development experience Or
  • Bachelor's Degree for the 1H 2 years work experience (Sales Advisor)

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree MBA Preferred (Senior Sales Advisor) 2 years Business development experience in clean technology projects

Required Work Experience

  • Demonstrated work experience in sales profession(s) (For Senior Sales Advisor Only) Required
  • Demonstrated work experience in customer facing profession(s). Required
  • Demonstrated agility and flexibility to deal with a dynamic sales environment. Required
  • Proven track record from lead generation to closing. Required
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project). Required
  • Experience or familiarity with energy programs or electric transportation a strong plus but not required. Required
  • Experience with customer relationship management tools. Preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, sales and writing skills. Preferred
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines. Preferred
